You probably don’t know yet that Windows 7 introduced two mouse gestures to the users: some really fun to use gestures that will make navigation easier and usability greater. These two mouse gestures are Aero Snap kaj Aero Shake and we’ll talk about them below. These two mouse gestures, used together with the new Windows 7 keyboard shortcuts will make navigation a lot easier for you (and a lot less time consuming!)

So let’s read on in order to find out everything about the Windows 7 mouse gestures, including a tutorial on how to use them and get the most out of them.

The Aero Snap mouse gesture

This is basically a feature that deals with automatic resizing of active windows. It is very useful if you tend to operate with two or more windows open at the same time and the Alt + Tab combination is starting to give you headaches. Here is how you can use the gesture:

– “snap” (drag) a window to the top of the screen and it will be maximized; drag it away and it will be restored.

– snap a window to the left of the screen and it will take up half of your desktop area; snap another window to the left of the screen and you’ll have two windows next to eachother. It will be less time consuming and easier to follow if you have to compare the data in the two windows! Try it and see how fun it is!

The Aero Shake gesture

Oh, boy, this is a great one for the moments when you’re a bit angry! It is also very useful if your desktop gets really cluttered and you don’t want to go through the pain of clicking the minimize button on all the 28 active windows. With the Aero Shake gesture, you won’t have to! Simply click on the window you want to remain active and start shaking it back and forth – all the other windows will get minimized.

Also, if for some reason you start missing the cluttered look of the screen, shake the window once more and voila! all the other windows will be restored!
