Set up Quick Share between Android and Windows, choose who can see your device, and test a small file before transferring a large batch.
Prepare the two devices
Install Google’s Quick Share for Windows from Google; Samsung PCs use Samsung’s version from Microsoft Store. Google lists Android 6 or later and a 64-bit Windows 10-or-later PC, with Windows 11 required for ARM devices. Enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi or Ethernet, connect to the same network, and keep the devices nearby.
Choose receiving visibility
Open Quick Share settings on the PC and review Device visibility. Options include Everyone, Contacts, Your devices and No one. For your own equipment, Your devices with the same Google Account is a practical starting point.
Send a small test file
Drag a file into Quick Share, select the receiving device and choose Share. Check matching PINs if shown, then accept the transfer on the recipient. Run the app normally, not as administrator.
If the other device is missing
Check Bluetooth, network connection and receiving visibility on both ends. Move them closer and reopen the app. Some office networks restrict device-to-device transfers.
Verify before sending a whole folder
Our suggestion: use an ordinary image as your first test. Open the received copy and confirm that it arrived on the intended computer. Then repeat with the file type you actually need, such as a document, before starting a larger transfer.
Use recognizable device names when several people are nearby. A short check of the receiver is easier than trying to work out later which similarly named laptop received a file. Avoid using sensitive paperwork as a test item.
Finish the session cleanly
After the transfer, organize the received files into their final folder and restore a narrower visibility setting if you temporarily broadened it. Keep the original until you have checked the received copy. A successful transfer notification is useful, but opening the actual document is the more meaningful final check.
