AirSelfie Takes Selfies to Brand New Heights
We mean it literally when we say it: AirSelfie is a brand new gadget that takes selfies to brand new heights. This little gadget, designed specifically for selfie fanatics and I would dare to say world travelers, is basically a mini drone or a flying camera that you control with your smartphone and take amazing selfies with.
It sounds almost too sci-fi to be true, but this actually exists! The project is currently on Kickstarter, but it has already surpassed the original goal of €45,000, managing to raise almost double the amount with over a month left! Apparently, the 60 engineers working on the project are not the only ones who believe than an airborne device for taking amazing selfies is what the world needs now.
The truth is that, at least in theory, everything sounds and looks impressive. The AirSelfie gadget is easily attached at all times to your smartphone, being part of the cover. You simply pull it out, throw it up in the air and you’re ready to take the most amazing selfies ever!
The flying camera can be easily controlled with your phone. It works with both Android devices and iPhones and has some solid specifications: it can fly for three minutes between charges, it can take a gazillion photos that it will transfer automatically to your phone via a WiFi connection that it automatically creates and also has a Built-in Micro SD card of 4GB. The camera has just 5 Megapixels, which isn’t impressive, but good enough for taking selfies. It also weights just 52 grams, which is pretty impressive!

This gadget of the (near) future will be launched in March 2017, but you can still back this project on Kickstarter by the end of 2016 and get some extra goodies if you want to. If not, you should expect to pay around €360 based on the Kickstarter listing.
I can already see the AirSelfie being extremely useful in many situation and the only device capable of taking amazing selfies. As I said earlier, I believe that it would be best used when traveling – especially if you travel alone or as a couple – but even for large parties and events it would be great. And I am sure that this is that type of device that will be upgraded and updated in the future, being further perfected and improved. The future sounds really exciting!
The creators of AirSelfie have already shared with us a bunch of things the AriSelfie can do:
With AirSelfie, users can:
● Take group selfies and family photos from up to 66 feet away, capturing both people and panoramas
● Take indoor and outdoor aerial photos of subjects and locations that would otherwise be unreachable (e.g. monuments and stadiums during sporting events)
● Take videos from perspectives that were formerly impossible
● Use the device as a monitoring camera (when the device is not flying and is connected to a power source)
● Use the video as a work tool (for example, time-lapse shots of company event setups)
What do you think about this impressive gadget? Is this something you’d get?
